Use OneSearch to search for books, eBooks, articles (from magazines, newspapers, and journals), streaming videos, and more, all in a single search. OneSearch searches across most Skyline Library Databases at the same time.

Finding Scholarly Articles

  • Academic Search Complete (EBSCO) * Full-text articles from leading journals. Coverage is multi-disciplinary and includes full text for more than 3,700 peer-reviewed titles; searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,000 titles. Updated daily. 1975 - present.
  • CQ Researcher (CQ Press) CQ Researcher contains weekly research reports on recent news topics and issues of broad interest in the public policy sphere. Reports address a wide variety of subjects, including health, social trends, criminal justice, international affairs, education, the environment, technology, and the economy.
  • ERIC - Education Resources Information Center (EBSCO) * Provides access to education journal articles and resources. The database contains more than 1.3 million records and provides access to information from journals included in the Current Index of Journals in Education and Resources in Education Index, dating back to 1966.
  • Opposing Viewpoints (Gale in Context) Features viewpoint articles topic overviews, full-text magazine, academic journal, and newspaper articles, primary source documents, statistics images and podcasts, and links to the Websites

  • Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection (EBSCO) *Provides information concerning topics in emotional and behavioral characteristics, psychiatry & psychology, mental processes, anthropology, and observational & experimental methods; offering full text coverage for nearly 560 journals.

 Skyline College Library offers online The  New York Times accounts for all students, staff, and faculty. This includes unlimited access via mobile apps on tablets and smartphones.

NYTimes.com accounts are good for one year for eligible Skyline College community members only (current students, staff, and faculty), after which accounts need to be renewed.

Faculty are eligible for a New York Times in Education account. New York Times in Education provides curated content for a range of disciplines on how to incorporate news content from the New York Times into your curricula.
