The State of Water: Exhibit & Events

This spring, Skyline College hosts The State of Water, a travelling exhibit and series of programs exploring water as a source of life, conflict, sustainability, and justice, including issues of environmental racism, conservation, and creativity.

Opening Reception
Monday, February 2 | 2:00–3:30 pm
Tuesday, February 3 | 9:00–10:30 am
Celebrate the arrival of the exhibit with refreshments and conversation.
Community Educational Panel
Thursday, March 5 | 12:30-1:30
A dynamic discussion with speakers from the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency (BAWSCA), Filoli, and others (details to come). The panel will explore local and global challenges in water conservation and stewardship.
Community Art & Poetry Workshop with Aileen Cassinetto
Wednesday, March 11 | 12:30-1:30
Poet Aileen Cassinetto will guide our campus community in creating poetry and collaborative art inspired by water, drawing on the High Seas Treaty, water treaties, and other texts.
Throughout the exhibit, students and community members are invited to submit original poetry and art on the theme of water. These works will be brought together as a community installation, which will be exhibited in the Skyline College Library after the travelling State of Water exhibit departs in March, and will remain on display for the rest of the semester.
