Library Resources

The Skyline College Library features a book collection of 50,000 volumes and subscriptions to hundreds of magazines, journals, and newspapers. 

If you are a current Skyline College (or SMCCD) student, faculty, or staff, you automatically have a free college library account that can be used to borrow materials and access collections at the college libraries.  You don't need a physical card beyond your College ID and/or your G number.

Your Library Account  provides access to:


  • Search for articles, books & more
  • Place holds, check due dates, & renew items
  • Create a list of favorite books, articles & more


Print Collection

Circulating collection - books found on rows of shelves on the right hand side as you enter the library

Reserves - books located in the front desk or check-out desk area set aside for your class

Reference books such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, manuals etc. in the reference section behind the reference desk

Journals, Magazines & Newspapers - a list of print and electronic journals, magazines, and newspapers can be found here.

Electronic Resources

Library provides access to hundreds of electronic books, journals, magazines, newspaper articles, streaming videos and other resources. To access these resources off-campus you'll need to use your email or Canvas login.

With so many resources to choose from, library research can seem like a daunting task. Don't worry! Librarians can help you find the information you need for your papers and projects and show you how to use library resources and tools. Librarians can help:
