Concurrent Sessions #3: 3:30-4:30 p.m. LGBTQ+ 1: Let Me Be Perfectly Queer (Zahra Mojtahedi, Planning & Research Analyst; Dr. Rika Yonemura-Fabian, Associate Professor, Sociology; Rob Williams, Professor, Language Arts) Bldg. 7, Room 7-109 Do you consider yourself a straight and/or cisgender ally for LGBTQ+ students? In this multi-part series, participants will gain new perspectives around gender identity and sexual orientation to better support. Workshop facilitators will guide participants through group activities, scenarios, and thoughtful discussion around key topics (e.g. heteronormativity, pronouns, intersectionality) in a safe and welcoming space. Participants will walk away with practical tools and strategies to implement in their respective roles on campus. Employees who identify as LGBTQ+, both faculty and staff, are highly encouraged to join and share their experiences and perspectives, too!
