Find Articles on the Web

Gale Encyclopedia of Psychology (PLS library card required for access from off campus)
Includes over 650 published encyclopedia articles on people and subjects important to the study of psychology
To search for articles, click in the search box labelled "within publication", enter search word(s) and press Enter or click the search icon.
To browse article titles alphabetically, click on the appropriate words in the Table of Contents list to view article titles for that alphabetical selection.

Google Scholar
Google’s academic search engine accesses a wide range of academic articles, theses, books, abstracts and court opinions, from academic publishers, professional societies, online repositories, and universities. The majority of sources retrieved by Google Scholar are usually abstracts (summaries) of articles, which do not provide the full-text of the article (or a significant charge is required for the full article). In many cases, you may be able to retrieve the full-text of these articles by using the Skyline College Library Article Delivery Service.

To search for multiple concepts, use ORs between words for the same concept and quotes around phrases
e.g. study OR research “child development” “single mother” OR “single parent” OR “single father”

- open access
Click on the link above to search for websites of psychology journals. Note: This search facility helps you to locate websites of journals. Do not use this site to search for journal articles. If you are looking for the full text of a specific article from a particular journal, free full-text articles from back-issues are sometimes (not usually) available from the journal's web site
