Bibliographic notes and content notes
Are notes compatible with MLA style?
Add bibliographic notes or content notes only when you need to provide additional information that you can't provide in the text. But avoid lengthy discussion in the notes to keep readers focus on the primary text.
The notes can be styled either as footnotes or endnotes (MLA 7.1-7.4)
